I am married with 3 children and I just love being part of Independent Humanist Ceremonies. I feel it is a privilege and such a wonderful feeling being able to help people create an individual ceremony on one of the most important days in their lives. My beliefs are such that if we can be kind, thoughtful and non judgemental to one another, then life can be great. We only have one life so let’s make it the happiest we can.

Special memories last a lifetime

There are times in everyone’s life which are remembered forever, and a wedding is one of these.

I look forward to working closely with you to design a personal and unique ceremony which reflects you as a couple and creates lots of special memories for you to look back on.

I was a headteacher of nursery schools for 10 years and particularly enjoyed working with families of all backgrounds, helping them make a difference to their lives. I am a positive, outgoing person who enjoys meeting people and the skills which I developed within my career enable me to provide a personal and professional service.

I believe in respect for everyone and that the most important thing in life is happiness. I recognise that it is not our place to judge what makes another person happy but to support them in their journey.

In the words of Wet Wet Wet- "Love is all around you" and that's exactly how it should be on your wedding day - in my role as your Celebrant, from our first meeting I want to ensure that YOUR special day is exactly how you want it.

I would be honoured to facilitate your loved one’s final journey, with a tailored ceremony for their funeral that tells those in attendance about their life and personality.

Baby-naming’s - what a lovely occasion to be involved in, as a father of a toddler, I appreciate the importance, to every parent, of their child and will make this ceremony as amazing as you would want for you and your baby!

I have had a variety of adventures in my life including public service, chefing, sport and latterly 12 years in sales, meaning that public speaking and presenting to audiences is second nature to me.

I have a background in management of arts events and venues, as well as a history of public speaking. I felt that this, coupled with my enthusiasm for meeting new people, seemed perfect to tailor personalised and professional ceremonies to couples on their big day. I enjoy the very personal, thoughtful touch that Independent Humanist Ceremonies bring to events and am dedicated to working closely with people to create a wedding day that they and their guests will remember, as it absolutely reflects their personalities as individuals and, of course, as a couple.

There is a Scottish proverb which says, 'A story is told eye to eye, mind to mind and heart to heart.' I can't think of a better job than to help couples to share the story that brought them together and to be with them to mark the moment they marry with a ceremony that fits them perfectly. I am delighted to perform weddings large and small, from hotels to woodland setting. I'm also very happy to provide a Celtic ceremony for all those who dream of a romantic Scottish wedding. I look forward to meeting you.

Over the last few years, I have watched my wife, Beverley, take so much pleasure in conducting wedding ceremonies. Our boys are now grown up and when the chance came to join her and the team at IHC, I was absolutely delighted. Now I get the chance to travel the country meeting great couples and producing tailor-made ceremonies for them. And the chance to wear one of my kilts is always a bonus! Calm and well-organised, I’m used to public speaking and I love a good story to tell. Give me a call, or drop me an email, and we can discuss your ceremony, your way.

I am a family man with two grown up sons and three grand children. I have spent over 30 years in public service and have gained a wide variety of experience in working with people. I believe we should live our lives with sound moral and ethical principals and care for one and other.

Your wedding day will be one of the most happiest days of your life and as your wedding celebrant I will be there to advise on the style, structure and content of your ceremony to create one that is perfect for you and your guests.

Your ceremony will be tailored to your specific needs and can be as formal or light-hearted as you wish but ultimately you will decide on the content of the ceremony and it will be without doubt a day you will remember for the rest of your lives.

Like every other couple you would wish your Wedding Ceremony to be very personal and unique for you.  The ‘art’ in being a Humanist Celebrant is to gather your information and present it in such a fashion that you are delighted with the outcome.  Every Ceremony is different but they are all performed to suit you and your wishes.

I have been fortunate enough to have vast experience of dealing with the public over many decades and this I trust is evident in my dealings with couples throughout the process and on their particular ‘special’ day.

The beauty with Humanist weddings is that you don’t need to follow any rules. I love finding out who my couples are - whether they want a ceremony that is casual and stripped back, or absolutely hilarious, quirky and full of mad stories! You can create a ceremony that completely embodies who you are as a couple, without the need for outdated traditions. Does your Quaich contain tequila? Do you want to write parts of the ceremony in secret from each other? Would you rather stick on your hiking boots, head into the woods and bring your dog? Go for it!

Celebrate who you are, and I guarantee that you will have the most amazing time as you step into married life. All of your guests will come away knowing EXACTLY why you two have chosen to commit the rest of your lives to each other!

My aim as a Celebrant is to work with you in a professional manner to deliver your thoughts and values, so helping you to recognise the choices you have in creating your own unique ceremony, spreading love and laughter all around us.

I love officiating at weddings, vow renewals, and/or baby naming ceremonies, from the initial contact that I have with the couple, to preparing the ceremony, and it’s an honour to be a very special part of the “Big Day” itself

I believe in the importance of celebrating defining events in our lives; its beginning, its end and the loving partnership between two people.  A humanist ceremony provides just such an opportunity for many people who are looking for a ceremony that is unique and personal to them and reflects their personalities, aspirations and beliefs.

With a background in healthcare, research and the voluntary sector, I have always enjoyed getting to know people from all walks of life and hearing their story.

Now as a celebrant with Independent Humanist Ceremonies I feel privileged to be entrusted with your story to create with you a ceremony which is memorable for all the right reasons, a ceremony  with warmth, dignity, humour, reflection and joy all in the right measure, a ceremony which is just right for you.

I love being a celebrant. Being part of a couple’s joy on their wedding day is such a rewarding experience,. By listening to a couple’s story and by working closely with them, I can help to facilitate the creation of their ideal ceremony. This is such a privilege. It is important to make sure that the couple and their wishes, remain at the heart of their ceremony, in order that it will be a unique and memorable occasion, not just for themselves but for their friends and families too. My background of working for many years in primary education, has dovetailed with those needed to be an effective celebrant and I am committed to helping each couple achieve all that they want from their ceremony.

I have been conducting services for several years now. I love 'happy' occasions and it is always an absolute pleasure to give a personal service to a couple & their families on these wonderful days! A great lover of Scottish & European history, I love conducting traditional handfasts & weddings with or without plaids & tartan and traditional white weddings too. It is your day and I take great pleasure in putting together aceremony that is unique to you and reflects your wishes. Located in the North East of Scotland I have travelled from the borders to Orkney, conducted services in ruined abbeys, hotels, castles & gardens in fact just about everywhere! I am based in the South Lanarkshire area and love to tell people that being a Celebrant is the perfect vocation for me.

I get a great deal of job satisfaction when I deliver an amazing ceremony for my couples.

I love meeting my couples for the first time and telling them what they can expect during ‘their ceremony’ and noting ‘their story’.

It really is a ‘labour of love’ for me when I conduct my ceremonies and I consider myself to be in a very privileged position when my couples trust me with the most important day of their lives.

I always receive great feedback from my couples and their guests when I conduct my ceremonies and that is why I know that being a Celebrant is a perfect job for me.
